“When I got the Head Coaching job at Clemson University in 2009 one of the first things that I wanted to do was hire a performance psychologist. I recognized that so much of this game is mental and my players needed a resource to be able to sit down and maybe learn how to think a little differently. I also knew that problems arise with young people and it was important to have someone on my team that could help them deal with some of the struggles of life that can arise from time to time. As a coach we must wear many hats in order to inspire, motivate, teach, discipline and prepare our players, but sometimes the player needs another voice or outlet to vent or discuss his situation. The coaches need that as well, after all, “life” happens for all of us. Milt Lowder has been that guy for me since 2009. As I built my staff and infrastructure, I wanted to make sure that I provided my players and staff with all the resources that they needed to be successful. Over the past 8 years, Milt and I have met every Wednesday afternoon to discuss my thoughts for the week and to get his feedback. I created “Moment with Milt” on Thursdays to allow Milt to have time in our Thursday am staff meetings and then for him to be in front of the entire team that afternoon. He has done an excellent job in performing his role for our team and has been an integral part of our success since 2009. Milt is a professional at what he does and has become a trusted friend. I highly recommend Milt and his group if you are looking for that extra edge in your performance or need help in dealing with a curveball in life.”
