Cory Shaffer, Ph.D.

As the Director of Performance Consulting, Dr. Shaffer provides mental performance training to local athletes, coaches, and teams ranging from junior level to elite and professional. Additionally, he provides these services to corporate clients, including individuals in executive roles in the financial services and insurance industries. Cory also provides sport psychology services to Clemson University’s athletic department, as well as Coastal Carolina University’s athletic programs. Previously, he has worked with Navy Special Operators and Florida State University (FSU) athletic programs. He earned his Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from FSU in 2014, a M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2011, and a B.S. in Human Development from Cornell University in 2010. Cory resides in Greenville with his wife, Kim, and their son, Cameron. He enjoys eating local food, spending time in downtown Greenville, weightlifting and yoga, and watching and attending sporting events.
